ALRIGHT! Hey Geeks and Geekets!
So I know its a bit a random but there is a game that's coming out soon and it holds a sweet spot in my heart so I gotta share this with the rest of the people. This snippet is only focused on the demo, so lets get started with Transformers Fall of Cybertron Demo Review!
Alright so I got an early access to the demo as so did many others who pre-ordered it. Honestly I was unaware of the pre-order perk and was suprised when the code popped up in my email. I believe the demo will be publically released later this week. Now moving on!
So the demo give you three gaming options -
1.Play a BumbleBee demo
2.Play a Vortex demo
3.Multiplayer demo.
Since I knew I would be spending a l ot of time on option three, I decided to get 1 and 2 out of the way. So first off is BumbleBee's mission. The demo basically hopes you do this one first because all the tutrturials of basics commands and movements are explained in this one. Right off the bat, I notice one cool improvement is the cinematic apprach. Sure the previous had a cutscenes and story but this mission started with strong visuals and made what I was seeing interesting. I must admit, War For Cybertron failed on this aspect which lead me to mashing the skip button and just wanting to get on with the next mission. Small adjustments such as a run feature, switching which arm is you aim from on the fly and universal dodging all makes it's predecessor feel so clunky. Something is always happening, in this demo you were given things to do and mowing the enimies down was just a means to get it done. I wont give the ending of the demo away but BOY do they know how to take something away right when it gets good! Overall I was very impressed.
The second mission centered around one of the Combaticons (thats the team that forms Bruticus) named Vortex. Now this level was completely different than the previous! You're given a semi-wide open map and while its not a sand box per say, it is amazingly big and even there are many collectibles if you're willing to stop your super important mission to locate extra credits and audio logs. Overall this map showed me just how "up-to-you" these type of levels are. If I wanted, I could have landed on the ground during battles and took em out the ol fashioned way or I choose to fly all over my enemies and destroying them from above. The choice and freedom was very refreshing and made me feel like I am Vortex and this is how I would fight - not how the game wants me to fight. Another great map!
After playing the two I'm am super excited for the story mode and cant wait to play it!
Now in regard to the multiplayer I'll write one up in a separate review but as of now- I'm sold on the campaign mode!
Geeks and Geekets...ROLL OUT!!!
